Lode Maps

Terms of useUpdated October 2026

Lode Maps is free to use. By using it, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Drive safely

Follow traffic laws, road signs and road conditions over anything Lode says. Set up your route before you drive and keep your eyes on the road. Don’t use your phone in a way that’s unsafe or against the law where you are.

Directions can be wrong

Routes, traffic, speed limits, cameras, school zones, weather, store hours and road reports come from many sources and can be out of date or wrong. A road may be closed, private, unsafe or not suitable for your vehicle. Use your own judgment.

Trucks and RVs

Low-bridge, height and weight warnings are only a help and can miss limits. Always obey posted clearance and weight signs. You’re responsible for your vehicle’s size and route.

Sharing your location

Only share with people you choose, and only follow people who agreed to it. Don’t use Family Circle, Convoy or live sharing to watch anyone without their permission. Teen driver alerts are for parents and guardians of drivers in their care.

Reports, ratings and hours

Keep road reports, ratings and hours fixes honest. Lode can remove anything false, abusive or spammy, and may limit features that are misused.

Map data and services

Lode uses data and services from others, including OpenStreetMap contributors (© OpenStreetMap, ODbL), OpenMapTiles, Esri, Apple, TomTom, All The Places, Overture Maps Foundation and Wikimedia Commons. Their terms apply to their content. The full list is in the app under Settings › About.

No guarantees

Lode is provided as is. As far as the law allows, Lode Maps isn’t responsible for losses or damages from using the app, including wrong directions, missed turns, delays, tickets or accidents.

Changes

Lode can change or stop features, and may update these terms. If a change is important, the app will tell you. Using Lode after a change means you accept it.

Age

Lode isn’t meant for children under 13.
